Year 7 Flourish is a continuation of Year 6 Flourish for girls who have begun year 7, and their high school journey. The program focuses on devising practical strategies for girls to use in facing the everyday challenges of high school. Additional issues such as influences, dealing with changing friendship groups and handling teachers’ expectations will be discussed. Flourish will continue to provide opportunities to share stories and receive support, and there will be a continued focus on building confidence and self esteem.​​

From 2025 onwards, our Year 6 and Year 7 Programs have been combined as ONE Program commencing in Term 3 2026 and concluding in Term 1 2027.

Why do we do a Year 7 Program?

• In our Year 6 Program, we equip the girls with information, discussions and scenarios of real life situations that they may face next year or in the future. The Year 7 Program builds on this and creates a safe space for continued discussions as they are experiencing changes and some challenges through this first semester at secondary school.

• Social Skills and Friendships: We know that many girls are still anxious about making new friends. The program enables the girls to solidify and build their new friendships.

• Stability through their transition: During times of transition, it is important to continue doing the things you love and stay connected with those friends around you. We are here to help and encourage your daughter throughout her transition.

• Building Confidence: We aim to continue building her confidence through our activities and conversations to equip her not only for this year ahead but for many years to come.

• New topics and topics in more depth: During the program, we will introduce new topics and also go into more depth in topics like social media, friendships, self-confidence and wellbeing strategies.

• Continued Mentoring: Having positive role models and mentors in your daughter's life can play a significant role during these transition years. Girls love having someone older to ‘look up to’ and ask hard questions, who isn’t always a parent or close family member. There is much research suggesting that those who have had at least five adult role models in their lives during their teenage years are more likely to succeed and make positive choices throughout their teenage years. We talk more about this in our Junior Leadership Program too.

• Step towards our Junior Leadership Program: If your daughter is interested in being part of our Junior Leadership Program, the Year 7 Program is her next step! We open applications for our Junior Leadership Program later in 2027 after successful completion and commitment to the Year 7 Flourish Program.
